About
Why Five to Ten?
Five to ten years from now is a magical time. It is when seemingly all ambitious ideas will begin to show results. I think about this from the idea-haver’s perspective. The idea-haver (we can imagine) waits nervously in the waiting room of a Venture Capitalists office, or alternately sits up late agonizing over a press-release or grant proposal . In whatever field or state of operation this Idea-Haver is working in, he or she will at some point need to sell someone on whatever is, essentially just some shit they have dreamed up. The I.H. has had a good connection with an informal design background glitter-up the PowerPoint, and of course the diligent I.H. has a carefully practiced pitch, but a crucial question still confronts them: “how long can I string these fuckers along for exactly?”. Whats soon enough to get peoples attention, but far enough away that they will give me some room to work? the answer, nearly always is “five to ten years”. This is why I have launched this project. In a way, it is more a list of current aspirations than future expectations, which is why it interests me so much, Enjoy.
